Frampton: Return of the Jackal

Frampton: Return of the Jackal gave us intimate and unrivalled access to Carl Frampton during one of the most significant moments of his career — his long-awaited return to Belfast and a career-defining fight at Windsor Park.

Over two intense months, we followed Frampton inside and outside the ring, from his working-class roots in Tigers Bay and life with his family to the pressure of training camp and the extraordinary homecoming fight itself.

But the film became about far more than boxing, using Frampton’s story to explore post-Troubles Northern Ireland, its changing identity and the enduring Catholic-Protestant divide. At its heart is a remarkable portrait of a sportsman who has transcended those traditional boundaries, becoming a unifying figure for communities on both sides of the divide.

“An intriguing and earthy insight into the days of the Jackal”, offering a “rare glimpse” behind the scenes of Frampton the fighter and family man.The Irish Independent
